THE GLORIA UNTI LEGACY SOCIETY

You don't have to be a millionaire to make a difference in the world.

dianeI'm honored to be a member of the Gloria Unti Legacy Society which gives me the opportunity and satisfaction of ensuring that Performing Arts Workshop's quality arts education programs will continue in the future. I have included a bequest to the Workshop in my estate plan because I love, value and believe in what this organization is doing.

-Diane Downing

Bequests are for everyone and anyone. They are sensible and simple gifts. A charitable bequest allows you to be a philanthropist and keep your financial options open.

Whether you are writing your first will or updating an existing one, we hope you’ll include Performing Arts Workshop in your plans.

You can use your will to give a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or a specific item, such as real estate, a boat, artwork, the family silver, or savings bonds.

Bequests and other estate gifts come in all shapes and sizes and are as different as the people who create them.

Some bequests are unrestricted, given for general purposes. The Workshop can put these gifts to use where they are most needed.

Some bequests are restricted, given for very specific purposes, such as a permanent endowment, or long-term projects. We are happy to discuss options with you.

Regardless of the amount, your bequest is a statement of your belief that learning art makes a young person more innovative, creative, and a better critical thinker—skills that are important now and will be important long after we are gone. When you demonstrate that you care enough about Performing Arts Workshop to support its future, others will follow your generous example.

Types of gifts:

Specific Bequest

You give a specific amount, percentage of your estate, a specific asset, or collection of assets (cash, securities, or other property). Savings bonds, tax-deferred retirement accounts, and other items known as “income with respect to a decedent” are extremely tax effective ways to support our organization.

Suggested language:
I give________ ($ amount, description of property, or % of estate) to Performing Arts Workshop, a San Francisco non-profit organization, located at 1661 Tennessee Street, San Francisco, CA, for general purposes.

Residuary Bequest

Your will can stipulate that charitable gifts be made using all or a percentage of what remains of your estate after all specific bequests have been satisfied and debts and expenses have been paid.

Contingent Bequest

Suggested language:
If any of the beneficiaries named herein have predeceased me, then I give such beneficiary's share of my estate to Performing Arts Workshop, a San Francisco non-profit organization located at 1661 Tennessee Street, San Francisco, CA.
