Resources: Families

Find out how to engage with your child about Workshop programming or how to bring Performing Arts Workshop to your child’s school or community program. We’ve also included some other useful Bay Area resources:

We know it’s difficult and usually impossible to observe your child during the school day or in their community program, but here are a few ways to connect the work we do with you and your family:

  • Ask your child to share their favorite dance moves, rhythm or song, theatre exercise, or writing with you.  Feel free to join in with him or her!

  • Ask your child’s teacher or site coordinator what they see taking place during our lessons.  We love knowing our youth has more fun, but we also know that real learning is taking place.

  • Performing Arts Workshop does not offer a physical site for youth programs but rather brings arts programming into existing schools and community centers.  Please see the links below for community resources that do offer on-site programs.

  • If you are interested in getting Performing Arts Workshop’s programs in your child’s school or community center, please contact:

    For Schools: Karena Salmond, Program Manager, Artists-in-Schools. (415) 673-2634 ext. 202, karena@performingartsworkshop.org

For Community Centers: Mariel dela Paz, Program Manager, Artists-in-Communities.
