Stranded is about a young child during the aftermath of a Tsunami and how he must survive through the ordeals and dangers that await. To write this story I referenced other survival fiction and nonfiction stories like Hatchet and The Cay, and tried to create my own. To create these photos I used various colors of clay to create the models-but the figures would not dry and could easily be ruined. Putting my writing and photos together was a challenge, although the pictures turned out better than expected. As you read my book, I hope you’ll think about the troubles and feelings of the lost child in the story, and the dangers ahead. I hope you will also think about pain in the world and how vulnerable we can be.
